Een onorthodoxe DJ wordt naar Vietnam overgeplaatst om wat humor toe te voegen aan de plaatselijke militaire radio. Hij wordt razend populair onder de soldaten, maar wordt toch uit de lucht gehaald. Terwijl hij uit de lucht is komt hij in contact met Vietnamezen, maar ook met de oorlog.
