Nominaties Razzies 2008 bekendgemaakt

Disaster Movie en regisseur Uwe Boll moeten het ontgelden

De dag voor de Oscar-uitreiking worden traditioneel de Golden Raspberry Awards, ofwel de Razzies uitgereikt. De nominaties voor de slechtste films van 2008 nu bekendgemaakt. De film Disaster Movie sleepte de meeste nominaties in de wacht.

Volgens de organisatie van de Razzies was 2008 geen bijster goed jaar. Maar liefst 75 films uit het totale filmaanbod van 573 films werden aangedragen ter nominatie, een record sinds de Razzies in het leven werden geroepen.

Qua nominaties kwam de parodie Disaster Movie als 'overwinnaar' uit de bus. De creatie van Jason Friedberg en Aaron Seltzer werd zes maal genomineerd, in veel gevallen samen met Meet the Spartans van de zelfde makers, die vijf nominaties kreeg.

Vijf nominaties werden ook toegekend aan de The Hottie & the Nottie, een romantische komedie waarbij vooral de hoofdrol van Paris Hilton Razzie-waardig was. Ook de video game-verfilming In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale van Uwe Boll kreeg vijf nominaties. Boll is volgens de Razzie-organisatie het Duitse antwoord op Edward D. Wood Jr., volgens sommigen de slechtste regisseur allertijden. Het levert Boll een Razzie op voor zijn gehele oeuvre. Tot slot krijgt ook The Love Guru vijf nominaties. Het Mike Myers-vehikel van regisseur Marco Schnabel flopte wereldwijd en scoort hoog bij de Razzies.

De 29ste uitreiking van de Golden Raspberries vindt plaats op 21 februari.
